Road closures begin at 2:00 AM on Sunday, May 31 and include: the Gardiner Expressway from South Kingsway to the DVP (east and west lanes), the DVP from Lakeshore Blvd to Highway 401 (north and south lanes), and ramps at Rees/Spadina/Jameson and South Kingsway. Roads are scheduled to reopen by 4:00 PM.

How do I get to the Aga Khan Museum for Bike for Brain Health?

The Aga Khan Museum is at 77 Wynford Drive, North York. By car, take the Don Valley Parkway to Wynford Drive, one light north of Eglinton off Don Mills Road. By TTC, the museum is a stop on the Eglinton subway line. You can also take your bike on the subway. Night buses running on event day include the 325 Don Mills Night Bus, 334 Eglinton East Night Bus, and 354 Lawrence East Night Bus.

There are parking options around the Aga Khan Museum, but parking is limited. Participants are strongly encouraged to use public transit or carpool. A parking map is available at bikeforbrainhealth.ca/parking-map/

Do I need to be an experienced cyclist to participate?

Accepted Answer

No. You do not need to be an experienced cyclist. All you need is a bike and a passion for the cause. The event is a fully assisted ride accessible to all cycling levels and ages, with three distance options.

Is there a registration fee for Bike for Brain Health?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is a non-refundable registration fee required to participate. Riders 16 and older also have a minimum fundraising requirement of $195. Riders 15 and under pay $25 to register and are not required to raise $195. Registration fees are not tax-receiptable.

Yes, same-day registration is available. However, registering in advance gives you more time to reach your fundraising minimum. Day-of registrants must pay both the registration fee and the $195 minimum fundraising amount before the event begins.

Kit pickup locations for 2026: Baycrest (3560 Bathurst Street, Apotex Entrance #7) on May 20–21 and May 25–27, 9 AM–5 PM. Aga Khan Museum (77 Wynford Drive) on May 28 (2–8 PM), May 29 (9 AM–6:30 PM), and May 30 (10 AM–4 PM). The event-day check-in desk opens at 5:00 AM on May 31. Arrive by 8:00 AM to pick up your kit before the start line closes at 9:00 AM.

Yes. There are at least 3 rest stops along every route distance where participants can grab drinks and snacks.

Where do Bike for Brain Health donations go?

Accepted Answer

One hundred percent of all donations go directly to the Baycrest Foundation. Funds support breakthrough research into cognition, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and aging brain health; medical programs and services for older adults; and education supporting healthy aging. There are currently over 500,000 Canadians living with dementia, a number expected to nearly double to 1.4 million by 2031.

Will donors receive a tax receipt for Bike for Brain Health donations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Personal tax receipts are emailed immediately after all online donations of $10 or more. Corporate donations and mailed-in donations may have a slight processing delay. Registration fees are not tax-receiptable.

Are pets or dogs allowed at Bike for Brain Health?

Accepted Answer

Pets are not permitted at the event for the safety of all participants. Registered service animals as defined by the Ontario Accessibility for Disabilities Act (OADA) are permitted.

Are drones allowed at Bike for Brain Health?

No. Participants are not permitted to use drones along the route. Baycrest staff will be documenting the day with photographs and videos shared online after the event.

Yes. You can take your bike on the TTC subway. The Aga Khan Museum is a stop along the Eglinton subway line, making it easy to get to the start with your bike.
