What is the Bike for Brain Health event?

The Mattamy Homes Bike for Brain Health is a fully assisted fundraising cycling event in support of Baycrest Foundation. Riders choose from 30 km, 60 km, or 90 km routes starting and finishing at the Aga Khan Museum, 77 Wynford Drive, Toronto.

When is Bike for Brain Health 2026?

The 2026 event takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Routes open at 6:00 AM and close at 9:00 AM sharp, with no exceptions. The check-in desk opens at 5:00 AM.

Where does the event start and finish?

The event starts and finishes at the Aga Khan Museum, 77 Wynford Drive, North York, ON M3C 1K1.

What are the route distances?

There are three route options: 30 km (with a 23.4 km shortcut option), 60 km, and 90 km. All routes are fully assisted and start and finish at the Aga Khan Museum.

What roads are closed for the event?

Road closures begin at 2:00 AM on Sunday, May 31 and include: the Gardiner Expressway from South Kingsway to the DVP (east and west lanes), the DVP from Lakeshore Blvd to Highway 401 (north and south lanes), and ramps at Rees, Spadina, Jameson and South Kingsway. Roads reopen by 4:00 PM.

How do I get to the Aga Khan Museum?

Address: 77 Wynford Drive, North York, ON. By car, take the DVP to Wynford Drive, one light north of Eglinton off Don Mills Road. By TTC, the museum is a stop on the Eglinton subway line. Bikes are permitted on the TTC subway. Early morning buses include the 325 Don Mills Night Bus, 334 Eglinton East Night Bus, and 354 Lawrence East Night Bus.

What are the parking options?

Parking is available around the Aga Khan Museum but is limited. Public transit and carpooling are strongly encouraged. See the parking map at bikeforbrainhealth.ca/parking-map/

Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?

No. The event is accessible to all cycling levels and ages. All you need is a bike and a passion for the cause.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a non-refundable registration fee. Riders 16 and older must also raise a minimum of $195. Riders 15 and under pay $25 with no fundraising minimum. Registration fees are not tax-receiptable.

Can I register on the day of the event?

Yes. Same-day registration is available but you must pay both the registration fee and the $195 fundraising minimum at check-in before the event starts.

Where do I pick up my Bike Kit?

Kit pickup is available at Baycrest (3560 Bathurst St) on May 20–21 and 25–27 (9 AM–5 PM), and at the Aga Khan Museum on May 28–30. The event-day check-in desk opens at 5:00 AM on May 31. Arrive by 8:00 AM.

Are there food and water stations on the route?

Yes. There are at least 3 rest stops with drinks and snacks on every route distance.

Where do donations go?

100% of donations go to the Baycrest Foundation to fund research into Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and brain health; medical programs for older adults; and education supporting healthy aging. Over 500,000 Canadians currently live with dementia, a number expected to nearly double to 1.4 million by 2031.

Do donors receive a tax receipt?

Yes. Tax receipts are emailed immediately after all online donations of $10 or more. Registration fees are not tax-receiptable.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Pets are not permitted. Registered service animals as defined by the OADA are allowed.

Are drones permitted?

No. Drones are not permitted along the route or at the event.

Can I take my bike on the TTC?

Yes. Bikes are permitted on the TTC subway. The Aga Khan Museum is a stop on the Eglinton subway line.

    Entrances

    Exhibition Place

    From the west:
    There are three entrance points to exhibition place from Lakeshore Boulevard: British Columbia Rd., Ontario Dr., and Newfoundland Dr.

    From the east:
    Take Lakeshore Blvd to Strachan Avenue and enter via Manitoba Drive (just north of the Princess gates).

    Parking

    Limited Parking is available on the south side of the Enercare Centre.

    Road Closures

    Gardener Expressway:
    All ramps closed from the Humber River East to the Don Valley Parkway from 2:00 AM.

    Don Valley Parkway:
    All ramps closed from Lakeshore Blvd to Highway 401 from 2:00 AM.

    Public Transit

    TTC subway service does not begin until 8 AM on Sundays.

    The following TTC bus lines operate during early morning hours on weekends, with stops at exhibition place.
